National unity can not be developed through mottos and by simply initiating facilities tasks, Minister of Justice and National Integration Harshana Nanayakkara has stated.If we look at the history of the nation, disregarding individuals language rights caused skepticism among communities and intensified into an arms battle, the Justice Minister asserted.Speaking during an event to mark the Official Languages Week in Colombo, Minister Nanayakkara stated if people do not gain from the past mistakes, history will duplicate itself.Therefore, the Minister of Justice and National Integration stressed the importance of appreciating the language rights of individuals and their right to flexibility of expression.He is of the view that just through the meaningful application of the nationwide language policy, nationwide reconciliation can be made sure in the nation.
