Hyderabad: IT and markets minister K.T.

Rama Rao came down greatly on the BJP-led government at the Centre on Friday, saying it is portioning serious injustice to the state since its development in 2014.

Dealing with a conference, 'T-Next: Reimagining and catalyzing growth for a sustainable tomorrow', arranged by the Telangana chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, the minister stated numerous demands from the state federal government for sanction of new projects remained held up in Delhi.

These included proposals on a dry port, the IT Investment Region (ITIR), the Kazipet rail coach factory, a textile mega cluster, a branch of the National Fabric Research Study Institute and Export Promo Council, an Indian Institute of Handlooms, innovation institutes, a defence incubator, a centre of quality, a vaccine testing centre, a medical devices park, a plastics park and a leather park.

All such demands have all fallen on deaf ears, he said. The minister said the Centre was making a lot of money from Telangana state through collection of different taxes but providing absolutely nothing in return.

Rama Rao advised the BJP government to place economics above politics in the interest of the nation.

Political factors to consider must not can be found in the way of sanctioning strategic jobs.

I want to inform the main government that discusses Group India to ensure that they provide on this guarantee and help states like Telangana to grow with the support of the market, he said. The minister also took a dig at the Centre's Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives, saying simple mottos will not work unless concrete actions are taken to achieve the desired objectives.

No business wants to invest under the Make in India program unless the import duties on equipment are unwinded, he stated.

We sought fortifying of the existing train network, however there has been no response.

While building of eight railway lines and study of three more lines are pending, the proposals from the state for sanction of 4 brand-new train lines have actually been ignored.

While the Centre has approved a bullet train job for Gujarat, it has not designated even a single corridor to the southern states.

Is Telangana not eligible for bullet train project, Rama Rao asked.

Instead of supporting the Hyderabad Pharma City, the Centre brought the new bulk drugs parks scheme which caused unneeded competitors in between major states, delaying establishment of pharma markets here, he declared.
