Lebanon Blasts - Why did the Government stockpile explosives in the Heart of the City




On the night of 4 August 2020, at 18:08 EST, a very ground-breaking blast happened in the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The impact, which happened after a fire at the Port of Beirut, left 135 individuals dead and more than 5,000 injured. the explosion was identical to a seismic occasion of size 3.3 by the United States Geological Survey. The primary blast was connected to around 2,750 tons (3,030 short huge amounts of) of ammonium nitrate identical to 1.1 kilotons of TNT (4.6 TJ) that that had been confiscated by the government from the abandoned ship MV Rhosus and stored in the port without proper safety measures for six years
